Soul completes hat-trick

Irish Soul completed his hat-trick when powering home on the run-in to claim the three-mile handicap hurdle at Clonmel.

Old stager Powerstation made a bold bid for victory when hitting the front before the second last but had to give way in the closing stages.

Pat Mangan produced Irish Soul to challenge at the last while Some Target also came with a run on the inner.

Those two fought it out on the run-in with James Motherway's charge just finding more close home for a length victory.

The 3/1 favourite had struck twice last month at Punchestown and Fairyhouse and had no problem with the step up to three miles today.

Motherway missed the win as he travelled to Cheltenham with Define, a runner on Saturday, but he was represented by his father David:-

"He's been a bit of a revelation and has come on everytime he has run. He's improving all the time.

"He'll go for another hurdle and he obviously gets a trip. His future is chasing."
