Stacks Mountain was another easy winner at Tipperary tonight when cruising to success in the three-mile maiden hurdle for Henry de Bromhead.

Davy Russell took the mount on the 5/4 favourite and had him to the fore throughout as he duelled for the lead with Poker D'ainay and Our Dark Horse

Stacks Mountain asserted going to the second last and soon had things under control. He eased clear before the final flight to record a five-and-a-half length victory over Poker D'ainay.

The winner had been placed four times over hurdles previously and was gaining a deserved first success. He was making his first start since December.

Russell said afterwards:- "He didn't mind that drop of rain and was a typical one of Henry's that really jumped well. He has his horses in great form. The rain is getting into the ground but we don't mind."
