Flooring Porter seemed to relish the step up to three miles at Cork today as the Gavin Cromwell trained gelding comfortably landed the McCarthy Plant & Agri Sales Handicap Hurdle under jockey Jonathan Moore.

The son of Yeats was previously an easy maiden hurdle winner over two miles at Bellewstown in August but today seemed to progress further when coming from off the pace to eventually score a snug two and three parts of a length win over Double Windsor

Trainer Cromwell wasn't present and afterwards his assistant Feidhlim Cunningham stated “the step up in trip and the tongue-tie helped him and he was good. Johnny (Moore) said he was just a bit ignorant at those (padded) hurdles but he got around and there's a race for him at Navan in a few weeks.

“He is improving and while he didn't jump well early, he came into it well and got it done so all good.”
