The 100-rated Stratum looked in a different league to his five rivals in the qualified riders' race at Killarney and so it proved as he eased clear.

The 2/9 favourite took over from Cap D'Aubois with a circuit to race in this two mile one contest.

He tanked along and had all of the opposition scrubbed along in behind in the final quarter of a mile.

He was pushed along to readily assert in the final furlong and passed the post 12 lengths to the good from Freetown (20/1).

Jockey Patrick Mullins left after this race to head to Kilbeggan to ride newcomer Blue Jacaranda also for his father Willie Mullins, in the bumper in Kilbeggan at 8.10pm.
