Summit proves tops

They were joint market leaders for the twenty two runner Jack Mahon Memorial Maiden Hurdle at 9/4 and Summit Meeting and Whodoyouthink emerged as the big two in the straight but the former proved much the stronger in the end to prevail by seven lengths.

The course winning bumper son of Sadler's Wells found plenty when Robbie Power asked him a serious question and he stayed on strongly to the line to score in the crazy quilt silks of Howard Spooner.

Winning trainer, Jessica Harrington commented: "He is a nice horse and I like the way he was quick and accurate over his hurdles especially seeing as it was his debut. He got a crack of the whip and he flew up the straight. Robbie said he'd be better on better ground."
