Gotaway continued the excellent run of form for the Robert Tyner stable by winning the BoyleSports Irish Grand National April 22nd Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.

The 3/1 second favourite confirmed Tramore form with market-leader Ticket To Ride (6/4) after getting a brilliant confident steer from Philip Enright.

Plenty of these were left down by their jumping but there were no such problems for Gotaway, owned and bred by Tyner's wife Mary.

Enright asked the sweet-traveller to go and win his race from the last and he put a length and three parts between himself and Ticket To Ride at the line.

“The ground was better than it was in Tramore the last day and that was a help,” said Enright.

“We had beaten the favourite the last day and were only a pound worse off so we were confident we could uphold that form on the better ground.”

D.J. Mullins, rider of Tara Mia trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake and was pulled up thereafter.
