Somethinboutangela took the M.D. O'Shea's Mares Maiden Hurdle in Killarney at 12/1 for James Sheehan and Jody McGarvey.

The six-year-old mare made good headway to get on terms with Honey Come Home at the third last and then led at the next.

Honey Come Home came under pressure in pursuit as Somethinboutangela went for home.

The leader was slow at the last which opened the door to Honey Come Home on her inner, however, she was driven out to win going away by two and a quarter lengths.

Runner-up Honey Come Home was a 13/2 chance and she was two and a half lengths ahead of Kashika at 12/1.

James Sheehan said: "She was in front a bit early but she travels so well and the last day things didn't go right.

"She had a good run previously at Tramore when she jumped a bit high but is starting to jump fluently now. She can drop down in trip and will be a grand mare to go chasing.

"The owners are from Galway and she might go there as she is a fun mare and we'll make the most of it. The owners were in hard luck last year with Hurricane Ben being killed.

"I only have two horses in for the summer and there is a 5,000 euro bonus today, so that is the icing on the cake."
