Thurles racecourse has launched a new website www.thurlesraces.ie ahead of this weekend’s racing, with up-to-date information on their racing fixtures, going reports, track information, ticketing, catering and lots more.
This Saturday, March 25th, sees the feature race at Thurles, the Pierce Molony Memorial Novice Chase attract an exciting field of runners.
Great Field, who put his unbeaten record on the line after winning his only two starts over fences in impressive fashion, Diamond King, a well-supported favourite at Cheltenham last week but pulled up early after suffering interference, and who will certainly put it up to the likely favourite, and Alamein who was a little disappointing at Naas last time but would have definite claims on his earlier Fairyhouse success.
In the fashion stakes, two of Tipperary’s finest sporting heroes, Padraic Maher and Ciara Cummins will be on hand to judge the best dressed lady and most appropriately dressed gent competition, kindly sponsored by local businesses, First Editions and Morans Menswear, Thurles.
The first race kicks off at 2.10pm, with seven races on the card, and live music after racing by ‘Two and a half men’.
