Notimetoserve justified good support to land the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase at Tramore.

Philip Rothwell's gelding was backed from 7/1 this morning and was sent off the 3/1 favourite on course.

He tracked the leaders, under Andrew Ring, in the 2m6f event and hit the front going to the second last.

The Dushyantor gelding galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a two-and-a-half length success. Hans Crescent ran on to take the second without looking like troubling the winner.

“He's a grand horse but his wind was at him a bit so we had his palate fired,” revealed Rothwell.

“He ran well the last day at Navan (when third) and we were very very happy with him. He'll appreciate a bit better ground and hopefully he'll follow up on that.”

Winning owner Sean Kelly added: “I'm the sickest man on the track as I didn't have a penny on him!”
