The cold snap may have claimed several meetings in England but officials at Tramore do not foresee any problems ahead of the next Irish fixture on Thursday.

The course received plenty of rain over the weekend to turn the ground heavy, but the outlook is more favourable.

Freezing temperatures are set to continue for the next few days but the seaside venue does not tend to suffer with frost.

"The ground will be heavy, there is no doubt about that, but we didn't get what a lot of the midlands got," said course manager Sue Phelan.

"There is a bit more rain forecast tomorrow but it's a dry, cold and windy day today and it's drying all the time.

"I'd be cautiously optimistic but in this game you learn the hard way not to get too bullish about anything.

"We're so close to the sea that frost doesn't really get us here and if it does it's a light enough dusting that tends to burn off quick enough.

"The only possible problem would be rain. We had a lot of rain over the weekend, and had 40mm on Saturday night.

"That's not an issue today anyway and there is just a little bit more rain forecast tomorrow and that's it. The course will take all that so I'm optimistic."
