Liam Treadwell could be back riding out as early as next week as he makes encouraging progress in his recovery from injury.

The Grand National-winning rider sustained a broken left shoulder at Cheltenham on December 16 but did not require an operation and hopes to make a swift return to action.

Treadwell said: "It's coming along, slowly but surely. The rehab is going well. I've been swimming every day and have also gone to Oaksey House three times a week."

He added: "It's good that the shoulder didn't need operating on and I'll definitely be back for the likes of Cheltenham and Aintree.

"Hopefully next week there's even the possibility of riding out."
