The James Nash trained Tsar Paul (6/1) bridged a gap of four and a half years since his previous win at Dundalk when landing the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap this evening, under regular rider Ana O'Brien.

The nine year old son of Xaar had become something of a standing dish in flat handicaps in recent years but on his 19th run of the year this evening, scooted clear for a two and a half lengths win over Fairy Foxglove

The nine year old's previous win was gained at Down Royal in July 2013 but prior to that had won two races at the Co Louth venue in April and May 2010.

This year's Kerry National winning trainer Nash wasn't present but reported by phone “Anna gave him a good confident ride and they are probably unlucky they haven't won before now. He'll run again on Wednesday over six."
