Unfortunately the stable lost Kandinski in a second last fence fall in the Wilderness Chase, which necessitated Philip Enright missing the ride on Embracing Change in the finale at Clonmel, the Clonmel Oil Raceday November 13th Handicap Chase. The Anshan gelding landed a deserved win to bring up a double for his trainer Robert Tyner and substitute partner, David Casey.
Tyner and Enright had combined earlier for success with Sir Abbot before the misfortune in race five, a race that actually fell the way of David Casey aboard Arthur Moore and J P McManus' Fever Pitch
Casey was called in by Tyner to partner 4/1 favourite Embracing Change, a prolific scorer 'between the flags' but up until today without success, despite going close, under Rules.
The blinkered nine-year-old was always on the gallop as the returning to action Western Promise 'cut it out.'
He was very game in defeat but Embracing Change went on from the last to triumph by two and a quarter lengths.
Tyner explained: "He's in again at Thurles next Thursday but he's highly unlikely to run. It'll come a bit soon and I only had him in in case something happened him today (a possible early mishap).
"Finbar (winning owner/breeder) has a hair-dressing salon at Paul Street in Cork City. He's Dane O’Neill's (flat rider cross-channel) father." (TW & EM)
