Unaccompanied leaves rivals behind

The Dermot Weld trained Unaccompanied runner-up in last season’s Triumph Hurdle, returned to hurdling with an easy win in the Listed Naas Vet Panel Supporting Racing Fishery Lane Hurdle at Naas today.

The daughter of Danehill Dancer, carrying the colours of Moyglare Stud Farm, moved to lead at the final flight before recording an easy win, under Paul Townend (recording a double in the process), over Sailors Warn

Afterwards Weld said “that was a very pleasing performance and was very professional from both Unaccompanied and Paul. She won as you would expect her to.

“Where to next is not know, ill speak to her owner Eva Haefner, but she is entered in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle and we’ll look at that. We’ll see how she comes out of this race and will also be entered up over Christmas - I thought she was impressive there and there’s lots to look forward to.”
