Bye Bye O Bye rolled back the years to demolish the field in the Best Dressed Lady Competition Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan this evening.

Michael Griffin 's charge, a 12-year-old, recorded his last victory in May 2016 and had a previous course and distance win here the previous month.

Davy Russell, who enjoyed a fruitful spell on board him that summer with three wins, was back in the saddle tonight and the pair clicked again.

They kicked on after the second last to seal matters in the three-mile. The 10/3 favourite popped the last to run out a very cosy 12-length winner.

“He did super. I never thought he was going to do it that easy, especially on that ground but he's such a genuine horse,” said Griffin.

“He's unreal. I have him three years and he's actually going better now than when I got him. He's that type of horse.

“He's a pleasure to do anything with. I ride him out every morning and he's a dream to ride out.

“Danny (Grealish) is from Galway and he gets the most of the credit. He's been very patient with him, he perseveres with him and got his reward today.

“There are a couple of races in Galway for him so we might stick him in one of those and see how he gets on.”
