Winning trainer Lee Smyth said: "He's a ten-year-old that showed us plenty last year and won at Ayr at 50/1. He met firm ground on both his starts at Ayr this year and hasn't disappointed but we know he wasn't going on it and we suspected with easier ground today he'd run a big race.
"We got the right man on board and got the job done.
"I told Chris to make the running because he'd stay two miles no problem. He'll probably go back to Ayr as he seems to like it over there and the owner (Victor Robinson) has family there."
Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Last Garrison trained by Mark Michael McNiff, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.
S. Foley, rider of Pivot Bridge (GB) trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right and did not handle the track.
