Vic gives punters a Knock at 25/1

Knockbrack Vic returned to form and in the process came to the aid of the bookies when recording a shock 25/1 victory, paid over 40/1 on the Tote, in the Gowran Park Thanks All Customers Mares Handicap Hurdle.

Quite a number of the 13 runners still held a chance approaching two out in the two and a half mile event but John Joe Walsh's charge stayed on best.

She took it up on landing over the last for Philip Enright and went on to beat Lisrose (9/1) by a length and three quarters. Ocean Bright (25/1) held every chance before finding no extra from before the last to be a further three quarters of a length adrift in third.

Walsh said, “She'll go to Limerick now at Christmas time for something similar. She stays well, jumps well and likes that kind of ground. Philip gave her a good ride.”
