Ruby Walsh completed a double on the afternoon at Leopardstown as Mydor readily justified 9/4 favouritism in the three-mile handicap hurdle.

The Tony Martin-trained gelding was following up a victory at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day and was patiently-ridden by Walsh, successful earlier on Vautour to challenge in the straight.

A slight mistake at the last made little difference as the five-year-old appeared to have quite a bit in hand in beating Archie Meade by a length. Forever Gold was another two lengths back in third with Grand Partner completing the placings in fourth.

Martin said, "He's owned by a great bunch of lads who are all from Dunboyne and I'm delighted for them.

"He did it well and if he hadn't missed the last he'd have won by three or four. He'll learn from it and he's only a novice.

"Hopefully he'll make a chaser down the road and he might go chasing next year."
