Jane Walton gave Clounts Meadow a well judged ride to claims the spoils in the Tipperary (Ladies Pro/Am) Handicap Hurdle at Thurles.

Walton held her mount up before taking closer order in the back straight in the two mile contest.

Mick Winters' charge challenged Fairymount Boy after the second last and was in front going to the final flight.

The Wareed gelding had plenty left on the run-in, as Knockraha King gave chase, going on for a two-length win at 7/1.

"He was promising enough before getting an injury and then struggled to find his form when he came back,” said Winters.

"We worked him harder during the week thinking it would either kill him or cure him. He was entitled to win a race.

"Jane is working in Duhallow with Damian Murphy (Foxhunters Chase winning jockey) where he has a nice yard set up."
