Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen recorded a quick double at the Curragh this afternoon when Dabulena opened her account in the Keadeen Hotel Fillies Maiden.

The Aga Khan filly had filled the runner-up spot on two previous outings this term and got her head in front at the third time of asking.

Pat Smullen had his mount prominent throughout and the 2/1 favourite went for home three furlongs out.

She kept on well in the closing stages to record a length success over newcomer Black Ruby

“She's a very consistent filly and the filly that beat her in Tipperary is smart,” said Weld.

“She did what I thought she would do today. She'd had three runs this spring so she'll probably get a bit of a break now, a bit of time off. We'll play it by ear then.”
