Asian Wing overcame trouble in running to land the second division of the mile-and-a-half handicap at Dundalk.

Ross Coakley found himself behind a wall of horses two furlongs out in the finale but angled his way out over a furlong out.

The gelding was squeezed up again inside the final furlong, however, and did well to stick his neck out in the closing stages and post a length success over 9/4 favourite Alghanem

The 8/1 winner had been a drifter before racing having traded at 11/2 this morning.

Takashi Kodama 's charge was following up victory here over two furlongs shorter last week.

“He never tried up to three or four weeks ago,” said Kodama.

“I didn't do anything with him at home since his last win and he just cantered yesterday.

“I think he'll have a break now and he'll maybe have a run in January.”
