Yucatan bounced back to form when running out a gutsy all-the-way winner of the Finlay Volvo International Stakes at the Curragh.

Ryan Moore was soon in front on the 2/1 favourite and asked him for an effort passing the two pole in the Group 3 contest.

The Galileo colt answered every call and went on to record a length victory over Stellar Mass

Yucatan was shown significant improvement on his last outing having never shown when last of 16 in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot.

“He was just a bit slow away in Ascot he he never really got going. You'd be delighted with that,” said O'Brien.

“We'll look for another Group 3 for him. He might get a mile-and-a-half. No doubt he likes a bit of nice ground as he's a very good mover.

“Ryan was happy with him, he just said he's very lazy. The blinkers seemed to help him there. In Ascot he had cheekpieces so I'd say the blinkers were probably a help to him.”

It was a quick double for Moore and O'Brien with So Perfect having landed the previous race.
