Preview clonmel 27th Oct

Missy Tata is an interesting recruit to fences and Gordon Elliott starts her off in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase at Clonmel.

The French import developed into a really good juvenile hurdler last season and after a cracking fourth in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham, she signed off with wins at the Punchestown Festival and Killarney before reappearing with a cosy success at odds of 1-6 at Limerick.

She switches to the larger obstacles at a relatively early stage in her career but, as a result, she will get all the allowances and this appears a decent opportunity for her.

It could be a good day for Elliott, who begins with two in the opening Cahir Mares Maiden Hurdle at 2.15.

The pick of the duo is Theatre Wine, who was denied by a short head when odds-on on her debut for the yard at Roscommon recently, but should step forward from it.

Mick Jazz then has his first outing for the County Meath handler in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle.

After placing behind high-class hurdlers Old Guard and Top Notch in late 2014, the ex-Harry Fry inmate wasn't seen again until sent off joint-favourite for last year's Greatwood Hurdle.

He was pulled up there but clearly possesses an engine and it will be interesting to see if Elliott can tap into his potential.

Rendezvous Peak is the stable's representative in the www.grahamnorris.com Memorial Handicap Hurdle and although he hasn't scored since coming to Ireland, he went agonisingly close at Downpatrick latest.

The one to beat here is the Enda Bolger-trained Blackthorn Prince, who is on a hat-trick after victories at Ballinrobe and this venue.

Rachael Blackmore teams up with last month's C & D victor Solar Heat again in the Clonmel Handicap Hurdle, while Tony Martin's Tramore winner Lip Service attempts to make it two out of two over fences in the Watch The Breeders' Cup Live On At The Races Rated Chase.
