< Chrysanthemum got back into the winning groove with a thrilling victory in the feature race at Cork, the corkracecourse.ie Navigation Stakes.

The David Wachman-trained filly was always in the first two and tackled her market rival Rock Critic coming down the straight, though she didn't appear to be doing Shane Foley any favours.

When Barack appeared on her outside in the final furlong, the 2-1 chance picked up well and ran on strongly to hold on by a head in a tight finish to the Listed contest.

Foley doubled up when the Ken Condon-trained Mont Blanc (20-1) got up close home to snatch the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap from long-time leader Mamma Rosa by half a length.

Aidan O'Brien and his son Joseph were at Ascot for the superb victory of Excelebration, but the Ballydoyle handler got one on the board closer to home when Twilight Zone took the Coolmore Rip Van Winkle Maiden.

The once-raced youngster (1-3 favourite) was pushed into the lead early in the straight by Kevin Manning and soon had the race won, with Alazeya staying on to take second, two and a half lengths adrift.

There was a good prize on offer for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race and with only four going to post, Scatty Cat (2-1) snapped up the opportunity to land the pot for the Peter McCreery stable.

Michael Hussey had Red Queen for company a quarter of a mile out but was looking confident and his filly soon asserted, coming away to win by two and a quarter lengths.

It hasn't taken long for Luke Dempsey to make his mark and the 10lb claimer rode his fourth winner of the month when he pushed Michael McElhone's Drinmoy Lad (6-1) into the lead a furlong and a half out in the '2 Million Furlongs' Handicap and won by a length and a half.

Philip Donovan rode his first winner when the Paul Deegan-trained Srucahan (5-2 joint-favourite) defied a 5lb penalty to take the Mallow Apprentice Handicap with some authority.
