Brian Ellison was rewarded for his enterprise as British raider Montefeltro landed the valuable Tote Super Trifecta Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh.

Claimer Robert Tart rode the progressive five-year-old, who was sent off an 8-1 chance after warming up for the marathon contest with victories at York and Yarmouth last month.< Majenta struck for home inside the final quarter-mile, but Montefeltro was making remorseless progress and grabbed the lead late on before holding the charging Marchese Marconi by a length and a half.

Dermot Weld's juvenile Flying Jib (5-1) continued her progress up the ladder as she produced a smart turn of foot to take the Staffordstown Stud Stakes (Listed).

The frustrating Chicago Girl looked ready to win as she liked as she tracked Dazzling to the furlong pole, but she did not find much and Flying Jib cut her down to score by a length and a half under Pat Smullen.< Balmont Mast has run some cracking races in hot company this year, notably in Dubai, and Eddie Lynam's sprinter gained a well-earned success when taking the Johnny O'Sullivan Lifetime In Racing Achievement Waterford Testimonial Stakes.

Johnny Murtagh brought him down the outside and the 5-2 joint-favourite grabbed British raider Angels Will Fall deep inside the final furlong to win a shade cosily by three-quarters of a length.< Heirloom (7-2) stepped up to Listed company in the Join Go Racing In Kildare 2014 Finale Stakes and won well in the hands of Joseph O'Brien, leading home a Ballydoyle one-two after finishing strongly to beat Sir Walter Scott by two and a quarter lengths.

It completed a double for the O'Brien team, who took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden when debutant Century (11-4) zipped past the well-backed favourite Marakoush to win by a length and a half.

Gavin Cromwell's well-supported Sretaw (9-2 joint-favourite) always looked in control of the Stephen Quirke Memorial Apprentice Handicap and soon settled it when Damien Melia pushed ahead in the final furlong, winning by a length and three-quarters.
