Review curragh 1st Jul

< Izzi Top landed her first Group One victory as she ran out an impressive winner of the Barclays Bank Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.

John Gosden's filly (6-4), winner of both her previous races this season, travelled nicely in second place as odds-on favourite Sapphire took them along in the testing conditions.

She responded well when William Buick asked her to quicken up going to the furlong pole and though she didn't stretch clear, there was plenty left in the locker and she won readily by a length and a quarter.< Famous Name ticked off yet another Group Three prize, his 10th at that level and 17th in all, as he landed the Friarstown Stud International Stakes for the third time.

Dermot Weld's veteran (4-7 favourite) was settled in second by Pat Smullen and eased past Defining Year approaching the final furlong before readily going clear to score by three and three-quarter lengths.

Improving three-year-old Hartani gave every indication he is a stayer with a bright future as he completed a hat-trick in the At The Races Curragh Cup.

Johnny Murtagh hit the front at the quarter-mile pole on the John Oxx-trained 5-2 chance and dismissed prolific winner Midnight Soprano as he pulled five and a half lengths clear in the Group Three contest.

Andy Oliver's filly Sendmylovetorose (9-2) missed the Albany at Royal Ascot after stalls trouble, but put that behind her as she kept on strongly for Colm O'Donoghue to account for favourite True Verdict by a length and a quarter in the Grangecon Stud Stakes (Group Three).

The Camelot colours were carried to victory in the Barronstown Stud EBF (C & G) Maiden when Aidan O'Brien's newcomer The United States (2-1), ridden by Joseph O'Brien, got the better of rallying leader Dibayani by a head.

Edward Harty's veteran chaser Captain Cee Bee (6-1) put up an oustanding show in the Foleys Antiques EBF Handicap, tracking favourite Sky Pilot into the closing stages under Fran Berry and surging past to win by seven lengths.
