Preview down royal 24th Jun

It's Magners Ulster Derby day at Down Royal on Saturday and Tilly's Chilli goes in search of a four-timer in the valuable premier handicap.

Since breaking her duck at Limerick in April, Jessica Harrington's upwardly-mobile filly hasn't looked back, following up at Roscommon and Navan, and rising a total of 20lb in the process.

She will finder it harder to dominate proceedings from the front against this higher level of opposition, with Finn McCool having performed pacemaking duties in the past.

He was behind his fellow top-weight Percy in the King George V Cup most recently, though, while Noel Meade's Wingingit is improving at a rate of knots and goes for the hat-trick, and Jim Bolger steps Clongowes out of maiden company on the back of a string of second placings.

There is also a decent pot up for grabs in the Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Ulster Oaks Fillies Handicap, in which Harrington should again have high hopes, this time with Lady Derrynane.

Sweet Sounds, Pandagreen and Magen's Moon join her in forming a strong three-year-old team, with the older brigade represented by last-start winners Dragon Fei and Remarkable Lady.

The Harrington-trained Two For Tea went very close on her second outing and may not need to improve on that performance to go one better in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.

Damselfly is another who came within a whisker of getting off the mark on her latest appearance, and she goes in the Rainbow Communications Maiden, which gets the action under way at 2.00.

Wolfofbaggotstreet beat all bar subsequent Coventry Stakes third Murillo at Tipperary, though, and that sets the standard.

Miss Power only just failed to complete a three-timer at Navan and tries to regain winning ways in the Louis Roederer Handicap, and Duncan Of Scotland attempts to do something similar in the Value Cabs Handicap.
