Shane Foley managed to hold on to an erratic Bob Le Beau in the closing stages to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF August Handicap at Dundalk.
Jessica Harrington's three-year-old ran on strongly despite veering towards the centre of the course in the final half-furlong.
The 7-1 chance was far enough in front not to cause any interference and got home by a length and a half from top-weight Northgate
"He's very tough and genuine and he veered left close home as he was just looking for some company," said Foley, celebrating his 16th winner of the campaign.

Pat Smullen had his mount in front with over two furlongs to go and the 4-1 shot kept on well to beat Luisant by a length and a quarter.

Gary Carroll had Michael Halford's filly in front over a furlong out and she forged clear to score by two lengths.
"The race unfolded well for her, they went fast early on and she loves plenty of pace. Gary knows her really well and she performs well for him," said Halford.
"If the ground stays good we'll bring her to Cork next week for a handicap and if she improves enough we may go for the five furlong Listed Race here later in the season."
The Ger Lyons-trained Peahen (6-1) floored odds-on favourite Emerald Ring to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden under Keagan Latham.
Lyons said: "She's a lovely filly and we thought she'd run well first time out at Naas but she ran into a bit of trouble."
