Review fairyhouse 27th Jan

The impressive Laurina turned the Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle into a procession when bounding clear of her rivals in the Grade Three test at Fairyhouse.

Paul Townend was happy to wait aboard the 13-8 favourite, who came into the race on the back of a Tramore maiden hurdle win.

Once he asked her for maximum effort in the straight, Willie Mullins' mare charged clear to score by 11 lengths from Alletrix and give trainer and jockey a double on the card.

Their brace started when Mullins trained the first three home in the Book Your Easter Festival Tickets Today Beginners Chase, with Kemboy coming out best despite a howler at the last.

The 2-5 favourite had jumped superbly in the main and had appeared to see off all rivals approaching the last, but ploughed through the fence, leaving Paul Townend clinging on to keep the partnership.

C'Est Jersey had a sniff of a chance after that error, but Kemboy got back on an even keel and came home six lengths ahead, with Cap D'Aubois third.

Andrew Lynch got his fractions just race on Tom Gibney's Play The Game (11-4), who held on well to beat Champayne Lady by a length in the Easter Festival 1st-3rd April Maiden Hurdle.

Lynch bagged a double of his own when guiding Matthew Smith's 20-1 chance Maeve's Choice to victory in the Next Racing At Fairyhouse Saturday February 7th Maiden Hurdle.

Philip Rothwell's 10-1 chance Shrewdoperator took advantage of a feather weight to land the Fairyhouse Racecourse Members Handicap Chase under Adam Short.

Rothwell looked set for a double when Rightback Atya led approaching the last in the Bobbyjo Bistro Great Food Great Deals Handicap Chase, but he crashed out at the final fence, allowing Philip Dempsey's Dinnie's Vinnie (7-2) to score under Luke Dempsey.

Gordon Elliott bagged a winner when Chris Meehan drove Poormans Hill (11-8 favourite) to victory in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase.
