Review gowran park 22nd Jul

Andy Oliver and Billy Lee completed doubles at Gowran Park when Collision Course battled bravely to land the Like Gowran Park On Facebook Handicap.

With favourite Storm Ranger emerging from the pack a furlong out, the writing looked on the wall for the 9-2 winner, but he stuck his head down when it mattered to score by a head.

The first leg of Oliver's double came when Big Ego showed tremendous battling qualities to land the Thomastown Handicap.

The 14-1 chance battled back after being headed under Leigh Roche and finished half a length to the good over Circling Moon

Lee had earlier struck in the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Fillies Maiden as Outside Inside struck at the third time of asking for trainer Willie McCreery.

Billy Lee pushed the 12-1 chance into the lead two furlongs out and though newcomer Ball Girl the 11-10 favourite, ran on strongly late on, she was still half a length down at the line.< Two For Tea made it third time lucky with a battling display in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Jessie Harrington's 6-4 favourite was in front fully two furlongs out, but had to find plenty for Colm O'Donoghue's urgings to fend off the fast-finishing Dream Sleep by three-quarters of a length.

That was an across-the-card double for Harrington after a winner at Limerick, while Ger Lyons and Colin Keane made it a Gowran double with Insayshable (8-13 favourite) landing the www.gowranpark.ie Race.

Earlier Lyons' 13-8 favourite Always Dancing just fended off Breezolini to land the first division of the Racing Again August 16th Handicap under Keane, while 9-2 favourite Eleuthera came out on top in a blanket finish to the second division for trainer Johnny Levins and jockey Donagh O'Connor.

Johnny Feane's Park Row (8-1) got up late under Gary Halpin to land the Gowran Park Apprentice Handicap.
