Last seen finishing fourth in the ultra-competitive Galway Hurdle behind the likes of Overturn and subsequent Ebor winner Dirar, he was able to run off just a 1lb higher mark.
Andrew McNamara bided his time on the six-year-old before picking off Jessica Harrington's Dreamy Gent in the straight to win by two and a half lengths.

Pat Smullen pushed the button after leading into the straight and the response was immediate as she won by three lengths from Alsalwa
"She's a nice progressive filly, she loves an ease in the ground and she got an easy time of it in front," said Smullen.
"She's got size and scope and will get better in time."
Kevin Prendergast's Mawaakef was another winning favourite in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
A promising fourth on his debut at the Curragh behind the promising Pathfork, the 7-4 jolly didn't have things all his own way.
Aidan O'Brien's Factum made him pull out all the stops but Declan McDonogh's mount won by a head.
"I thought he'd win a little easier but he just got a bit tired," said McDonogh.
"He stayed at it well and he's a nice staying horse in the making, he was very green around the bends but he's got a good attitude."
Seamus Heffernan was nothing short of brilliant in driving Cannot Give (14-1) to victory in the Ross Golf Club/Killarney Racegoers Club Handicap.
There didn't look to be a gap up the rails but Heffernan powered his mount up the inside of Belle Chose to go away and win by two lengths.
