Aidan O'Brien had no luck in the opening two days of Royal Ascot and that trend continued as his Shield was disqualified at Wexford.

The JP McManus-owned five-year-old was first past the post in the Wellingtonbridge Novice Hurdle, but rider Robbie Power weighed in light and the race was awarded to Bentelimar the 8-13 favourite who had trailed home eight lengths behind in second.< Changeofluck who had finished a long way back in third, was promoted to the silver medal position.

Power gained compensation for that disappointment when riding Big Generator (2-1fav) to victory in the Jog For Jockeys Handicap Chase.

Byrne completed a double when Key Account ran out an easy winner of the Phelim Byrne Seasuir At Wexford Racecourse Handicap Hurdle.

Ger Mullins' six-year-old had shown little of note in six previous starts, but the result was never in doubt once she kicker clear off the home turn and recorded a 12-length verdict over Boru Boy < Shake The Bucket (5-1) recovered from a last-fence blunder to take the Courtown Beginners Chase by two and a half lengths from Silver Chief
