Berry's hope for Doubt

Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus, believes If In Doubt will have to spruce up his jumping in the future after he overcame several errors to lift the Skybet Chase at Doncaster on Saturday.

Berry is hoping there will be improvement in that direction as If In Doubt, trained by Philip Hobbs, was running over the fences for only the fourth time and it was his first try in a handicap.

"We were delighted with him. I thought AP (Tony McCoy) was very good as he didn't jump great," said Berry.

"He should learn a little bit from the race, hopefully, but all in all it was a good performance.

"He did have a problem with his jumping and it could let him down somewhere down the line. Hopefully he can improve on it. There are no plans for him yet," Berry concluded.
