David Marnane's Seanie will return to action in the Carragher's XL Castleblaney Race at Dundalk on Friday evening. The one-mile contest is a fast-track qualifier for All-Weather Championship Finals Day and is one of two races of its type at the track. Marnane's six-year-old was in great heart at the end of last season with wins at Listowel and Tipperary and he signed off with a decent run at Listed level. However Marnane believes the fact some of his rivals have race fitness on their side will make them hard to beat. "Seanie is going to take his chance on Friday. His preparation has gone very well but it is his first start of the season," said Marnane. "We have elected to run him here because it is a qualifier, but I think he will be hard-pressed to beat Glory Awaits and Captain Joy. "Seanie is coming back from a break whereas Captain Joy has been winning well and Glory Awaits is clearly very talented." Gordon Lord Byron holds an entry but trainer Tom Hogan said earlier in the week his globetrotter is an unlikely runner.
