Stuart Crawford has set his sights on next month's Coral Scottish Grand National with Glenquest.

The 12-year-old was a winner over hurdles at Down Royal last month but could finish only fourth back over fences at Navan last weekend.

Crawford has entered his charge for the Crabbie's Grand National but believes he will struggle to make the cut at Aintree, prompting the decision to focus on a trip to Ayr on April 18.

He said: "Glenquest won't get into the Grand National so his realistic target is the Scottish National at Ayr. The ground was probably too heavy at the weekend for him."
