Irish Derby hero Jack Hobbs will face just six opponents when he makes his return from a summer break in Saturday's totescoop6 September Stakes at Kempton.

Runner-up behind esteemed stable companion Golden Horn in both the Dante at York and the Investec Derby at Epsom, the Godolphin-owned colt enjoyed his day in the sun when clinching Classic glory in some style at the Curragh in late June.

The son of Halling makes his first start in 70 days in this weekend's Group Three contest on the all-weather and will be long odds-on to make a successful comeback ahead of a likely trip to Longchamp for next month's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or possibly even the Champion Stakes at Ascot.

With upwards of a stone in hand on official ratings, Jack Hobbs appears to face a relatively straightforward task, particularly with prolific all-weather winner Tryster, also owned by Godolphin, not declared.

Mark Johnston saddles the tough-as-teak Fire Fighting, while talented filly Mutatis Mutandis represents Ed Walker.

Hughie Morrison is double-handed with Royal Ascot winner Arab Dawn joined by stable companion Sweeping Up.

William Knight's Aussie Reigns and the Ralph Beckett-trained Niceofyoutotellme complete the line-up.
