O'Brien: Conditions helped in Ballydoyle win

Aidan O'Brien believes the better ground at Longchamp was key to Ballydoyle's return to winning form in the Prix Marcel Boussac.

The Galileo filly impressed in following up a Newmarket maiden win with victory in the Debutante Stakes back in August but when stepped up to Group One level for the Moyglare Stud Stakes, she found stablemate Minding too good.

However, that event was run on yielding ground and O'Brien thought the good conditions in France played to Ballydoyle's strengths as she secured a first Group One triumph.

He said: "Ballydoyle got stuck in the ground at the Curragh, but we were delighted with her on Sunday. Well done to Sue (Magnier, owner) for naming her as it was a hard one to put that name on one!"
