Beyond The Obvious (13/2) enjoyed a facile victory in the concluding bumper at Navan for trainer Martin Lynch.

He picked up the lead around four furlongs into this two mile contest. With over five furlongs to race he led from the favourite Robin Thyme and Triolet There was a gap back to Allenstown Kid in fourth.

In the final three furlongs Robin Thyme came under the whip and Triolet came off the bridle as Allenstown Kid made good headway to chase the leader.

However, Beyond The Obvious wasn't for stopping and powered away, still on the bridle, in the final furlong. Allenstown Kid's run petered out as Cherry Bomb finished well from the rear for second at 20/1. She was four and three quarter lengths adrift of the winner. Book Of Love at 66/1 rewarded his each way punters in third.

Jockey Mark Lynch, son of the trainer, said: "They went no pace the last day and he burned himself out. If he didn't settle today I was going to let him go on. He's a nice horse and may go hurdling now."
