Emma Lavelle is praying the rain stays away from the west of Ireland for the next few days to allow Junction Fourteen to take his place in Wednesday's TheTote.com Galway Plate.

The seven-year-old has won three of his four starts over fences, including a Grade Two triumph in the Rising Stars Novices' Chase at Wincanton last November.

He has not been seen in competitive action since winning on the final day of last season at Sandown, but has been prepared for a trip to Ballybrit and Lavelle feels he has a big shout if he encounters his favoured conditions.

Lavelle said: "Galway is very much the plan. The only thing that would stop us running is if they got torrential rain and the ground went very soft.

"I would love the weight he's on now (10st 10lb), so fingers crossed Road To Riches stays in at the top.

"I think it's worth a shot at it and the only worry would be the ground.

"I've never had a runner at Galway and haven't been since I was 16, so it will be a good experience."
