Baraweez bids for his third victory at the Galway Festival in the Colm Quinn BMW Mile Handicap on Tuesday.

Brian Ellison's inmate has been placed in the last two renewals of the extended one-mile contest before going on to win the 'Ahonoora' Handicap later in the week on both occasions - with the six-year-old set to go for the double once again.

Ellison has booked talented apprentice Daniel Redmond for the ride, but a wide draw in stall 16 is tempering his enthusiasm.

"He's got a bad draw, but he's in good fettle and obviously loves it round here," said the Norton-based trainer.

"We're taking 7lb off him as he's obviously got a lot more weight than he's had the last two years."

Baraweez is one of three runners for Ellison, with Top Notch Tonto and Stipulate also in contention.

Top Notch Tonto has been disappointing so far this season, while Stipulate has not been seen in competitive action since finishing down the field in the Lincoln at Doncaster in early April.

"Top Notch is in good form and there's a bit of rain around, which will help him," said Ellison.

"He'll get a better gallop than he's had for his last two races at York and hopefully he'll run well.

"Stipulate ran for me in the Lincoln and we found out he had a wind problem, so he's had that fixed and I've been happy with how he's been working.

"All three are in again on Sunday and the plan is to run them again.

"It's good prize-money so you might as well have a go."

Other contenders for the BMW Mile include Dermot Weld's pair of Ashraf and Karalara and the Ger Lyons-trained Sea Wolf.
