Caravaggio is likely to sidestep a mouthwatering clash with Lady Aurelia in the Darley Prix Morny at Deauville on Sunday.

A hugely impressive winner of the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, he was then unextended to land the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on his next outing, after which a trip to France was mooted.

However, it now seems like the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt will head straight to Newmarket on Future Champions Day for the Juddmonte Middle Park on September 24.

"It looks like he's going to the Middle Park," said O'Brien.

"It looks like that's going to be the plan, without anything being written in stone, at the moment."
