Jim Bolger completed a Curragh double when the three-year-old Teofilo colt Twilight Payment showed real grit to come out on top in the Listed Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital Loughbrown Stakes.

Winner of the race in 2014 and second last year, Toe The Line shaped as a possible scorer again on this occasion, when looming up going well in the straight. She eventually placed third.

However that impression wasn't as strong as the one created by favourite, Forgotten Rules He looked all over a winner when 'swinging' into contention inside the final two.

Soon a narrow leader, Forgotten Rules just couldn't shake off Twilight Payment and that one led from over fifty yards out for a half length win.

"I'm hoping that he'll be a Gold Cup horse next year. He was backward and I knew anything he did this year would be a bonus," suggested Bolger.

He added: "He's in the Prix de Chaudenay at Chantilly but I don't think that he'll be going there.

"The ground is always a concern until you know whether they handle it or not. I don't know if he will run again this year. We'll see how he comes out of this and discuss it with the owners."

Bolger had landed the opener with the Ronan Whelan-ridden Vociferous Marina

For the British Champions Long Distance Cup Twilight Payment is 12/1 from 33/1 with Paddy Power.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Jennies Jewel trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
