Oscietra, the first foal produced by the great mare Black Caviar, impressed in her first jump out a Flemington.

Black Caviar retired unbeaten in 25 starts for trainer Peter Moody three years ago, with her 15 Group One victories featuring a dramatic success in the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The ownership group that raced Black Caviar will race all of her progeny and nervously gathered to watch her first offspring take to the track alongside trainer David Hayes

.

Oscietra was quickly away in the hands of Luke Nolen, who was on board Black Caviar for all but three of her runs, and led four other horses from start to finish.

She came home comfortably clear to leave connections delighted.

Nolen said: " She had a bit of a look around. She did everything right. She's a happy horse.''

Hayes told www.racing.com: " I thought she was brilliant out of the gates and it was a good solid trial. She wasn't put under any pressure at all in the straight and was looking around but was still good enough to win.

"She's got a lovely big action for a small filly and she's got a cruising speed that I remember her mother had.

"I'm not saying she's going to be as good as her mother - I don't think there ever will be one - but she's certainly going to be a competitive filly."

Oscietra is set to have a "more serious" jump out at Flemington on December 23 and could make her competitive debut at the track on January 1.

Along with Oscietra, Black Caviar has also produced a yearling colt by Sebring and a filly foal by Snitzel.
