Anthony McCann is hopeful of recording his first winner in England on Wednesday when Temasek Star lines up in the opener at Newcastle.
The Monaghan-based handler, who took over the licence from the late Oliver Brady over two years ago, has had a handful of runners across the water without success.
He believes Temasek Star could break his duck, however, when he lines up in the Betway Amateur Riders' Handicap on the all-weather surface.
Johnny Barry travels over to take the mount on the six-year-old, who has run well on his two starts since joining McCann.
"If he runs the same race as he did at Dundalk a few weeks ago he should be bang there," said McCann.
"On his first run for me he ran a good race but probably just wasn't 100 per cent fit.
"The week after he was withdrawn by the stewards after slipping over in his box and I think he would have won that day.
"I had to run him back the following week and he probably ran one of the best races of his career in a very competitive race.
"Johnny Barry is coming over to ride him and I think he's a big asset in this sort of race.
"I think I've had about 10 runners in England since I took over the licence and they've all been thereabouts.
"I haven't had a winner in England yet but hopefully, touch wood, I can break that duck."
