Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy bagged a double at Clonmel today when Third Opinion was left to come home a wide margin winner of the Slievenamon Beginners Chase.

The easy to back 12/1 shot (8/1 this morning) had travelled well to head Knockraha Boss when that rival took a heavy fall at the second last.

Third Opinion was left well clear and negotiated the final fence to post a 22 length victory over Game Puppeteer

The winner was making his first start since May 2015 and was also having his first outing for Elliott.

Kennedy said afterwards:- "I didn't know much about the horse before today but he did it very well and I thought I had Paul (Townend on Knockraha Boss) covered when he fell at the second last.

"He'll definitely improve fitness-wise and hopefully will progress now."
