Ground good to firm after watering at Ascot

The ground remains good to firm for the third day of Royal Ascot which features the Gold Cup.

There was 5mm of water put on the whole course after racing yesterday.

Forecasters are predicting showers this morning to clear this afternoon.

Down Royal is currently good, good to firm in places on both tracks ahead of their two-day fixture which starts on Friday.

Watering continues today at the course while showers are forecast tomorrow. It is set to be dry on Saturday for the Magners Ulster Derby.

Limerick also race on Friday and it's good to firm there. Watering is taking place to maintain the ground and there is a generally dry forecast.

Ballinrobe race next Tuesday and the ground is currently good to firm. Officials will monitor the weather with regard to watering. Some rain is forecast for tonight.

The ground at Naas is currently good to firm ahead of next Wednesday's meeting. There is a risk of showers over the coming days.

The ground at Tipperary is currently good to firm ahead of their card next Thursday. There is also the risk of showers over the coming days down at Limerick junction.
