Johnny Murtagh is not ruling out bringing True Valour back to Britain for a second time this season for a shot at next month's Betfred Hungerford Stakes at Newbury.

After finishing down the field in the Jersey Stakes on his penultimate start, the three-year-old returned to winning ways in a Listed at the Curragh on his first start over a mile.

Although a tilt at the Group Two prize on August 19th would see the son of Kodiac dropping back to seven furlongs, Murtagh does not see that being an issue.

He said: "We are just giving True Valour a little bit of a break. He has having an easy time at the moment.

"The Hungerford Stakes is still on the radar. The thing is they go a fast pace over in Britain, so the drop back to seven furlongs should be fine. He is pretty versatile.

"He ran well at Ascot and it was nice coming back and winning a Listed race with him. If you look at his two-year-old form, he has good form all the way down. He was only beaten a short head by Lancaster Bomber on his third start."
