Frankie Dettori is set to sit out the action this week as he continues his recovery from a troublesome shoulder injury.

The rider was hurt in a paddock incident at Yarmouth on June 13th and ultimately had to admit defeat in his race to be fit for Royal Ascot, where he missed what would have been five winning rides, including Big Orange in the Gold Cup.

He returned to the saddle with two mounts at Newmarket last Thursday and was in the headlines on Saturday when steering Enable to the English-Irish Oaks double last achieved by Snow Fairy in 2010.

Dettori rode in France on Sunday, but said: "I'm feeling good mentally, but I feel a bit stiff and tired today as I rode three races back-to-back yesterday. My arms are a little bit tired.

"I will be taking the rest of the week off riding in races, but I will be riding out and carrying on my strengthening and physio.

"The reason is I want to be riding at (Glorious) Goodwood in every race. I can do three races at the moment and it is slowly improving every day. I did come back a little prematurely. Enable was a big carrot dangling and was my incentive.

"I had to grit my teeth and go through the pain barrier, but we got the job done."
