The John Kiely trained Line Out made a winning handicap debut at Cork today, landing the Irish Examiner Handicap Hurdle under a well judged Andrew Lynch ride.

Lynch produced the grand looking son of Shantou, a maiden hurdle winner at Killarney last month, to lead at the final flight and from there scored a three parts of a length win over Beautiful Ben

Afterwards Kiely stated “he was a little bit slow over a few of them but will learn in time. It was a nice performance and I think he will need further so we’ll try and look for longer races with him next.

“He will make a smashing chaser and while he’s winning we’ll stay hurdling and find another handicap and then see where we are.”

Line Out, a brother to ill-fated dual Listed winning mare Toe The Line, carries the colours of the Lillingston family.
