Aidan O'Brien's Deauville finished third for the second consecutive year in the Arlington Million in Chicago last night.

Ryan Moore got a dream run down the inner on the four-year-old and the pair struck the front early in the home straight as the leader edged off the rail. Deauville still held the lead with under 100 yards to go but was collared in the closing stages.

The race was won by Beach Patrol trained by Chad Brown. This was a second win at the top level for Beach Patrol which won last year's Secretariat Stakes.

Irish Oaks runner-up Rain Goddess beat just two horses home in the other big race on the night at Arlington Park, The Beverly D Stakes.

Aidan O'Brien's filly was bang in contention for a long way, but she was trapped for room when push came to shove as Dacita powered to victory, a big double on the night for trainer Chad Brown and jockey Irad Ortiz jnr.

Dona Bruja finished second in the hands of Declan Cannon, with Grand Jete third.
